Welcome to Northfield Hotel

The Northfield Hotel in Minehead stands out as a true gem on Northfield Rd. Boasting a commendable rating of 4.4, this hotel perfectly blends comfort, elegance, and hospitality. Nestled amidst beautifully landscaped grounds, it promises guests an idyllic retreat.

Reviews from visitors reflect a remarkable consistency in quality. Andrew Coulson, a frequent traveler, highlights the lush grounds and the exceptionally friendly staff. He praises the cleanliness and decor of the rooms, as well as the high-quality food offered. Furthermore, guests can indulge in the indoor pool, a delightful amenity that adds a unique charm to the stay. According to Coulson, there is "nothing not to love about this place," making it a favored destination for many.

However, not all experiences are without their hiccups. Visitor Suede Dogs shared concerns regarding room conditions. While the service was commendable, issues with hot water and maintenance could dampen the experience for some guests. It's noted that room quality may vary, particularly between upper and lower floors.

Still, Fred Reynolds believes the Northfield Hotel exceeds expectations for a three-star establishment. He underscores the informal yet attentive service, superb breakfast offerings, and the comfort of lounges and bedrooms. The harmonious blend of hospitality and quality facilities truly sets this hotel apart.

Amanda Bush’s stay underscores the efficiency of the hotel’s amenities, particularly the immaculately clean ensuite bathrooms and the enticing buffet breakfast. The dining area, framed by wood paneling, offers stunning views of the surrounding gardens, elevating the entire dining experience.

For those keen on exploring beyond the hotel’s comforts, the nearby attractions are not to be missed. The National Trust’s Dunster Castle, the expansive Exmoor National Park, and the breathtaking views from Dunkery Beacon provide guests with a plethora of sightseeing opportunities. This makes the Northfield Hotel not just a place to stay, but a vibrant hub from which to discover the beauty of the Somerset coast and countryside.

In conclusion, the Northfield Hotel combines rustic charm with modern amenities, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to enjoy a serene getaway. With a bit of attention paid to maintenance, it could easily rise to even greater heights of excellence. Nevertheless, its outstanding features and the warmth of its staff ensure that guests leave with cherished memories and a desire to return.

Can't fault this hotel for anything, and I've stayed in many. The grounds are beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of communal areas, both inside and out. Rooms are clean and well decorated, food is very good, AND they've an indoor pool. There isn't anything not to love about this place. Had a lovely stay and would definitely go back.

I have stayed here before and I understand the rooms on the lower floor are of better quality. My double room was fine but the shower never pumped out any hot water , I did report it but it didn't change . So washed in the sink. My brothers single room had water damage on the ceiling and the wallpaper was peeling off , surprised they hadn't addressed this . Other than that the service is impeccable, the food is very good and it is clean and comfy . Easy walk out thru the garden down to station and town which is what we wanted

Excellent, way above it's 3* rating in my opinion. The facilities, beautiful grounds, and ample carparking is only the start. The staff are informal and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast table and dining rooms are really top notch and the food on offer will definitely not disappoint. The bedrooms and lounges are comfortable and tastefully furnished. I read many of the reviews and although a few made justifiable criticisms the hotel must rate as one of the best in Minehead. It would be my first choice for a return stay.

I stayed for two nights in the Northfield hotel. My room was small but well equipped, with a comfortable bed and choice of two chairs. The ensuite was immaculately clean and the towels were more than adequate. A very decent buffet breakfast and choice of cooked food was on offer, served in a wood panelled dining room with views of the sea and beautiful gardens. These gardens were almost the best part of the stay; extending on different levels and beautifully maintained. I had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely book again if I were to return to Minehead.
